Ford is known for being one of the few American brands
for vehicles. While they pride themselves on it, Ford now intends to
extend itself on a global scale with its iconic muscle car –
the Ford Mustang. Entering its sixth generation, the Ford Mustang will
now be sold to Australians and Philippians as a right-hand drive vehicle.
This gives India and other countries hope that it will also hit their
markets in the future as well.
The Sixth Generation Ford Mustang
As noted before, the Ford Mustang is entering its sixth generation. The fifth generation was well known for receiving a major overhaul when it came to what was under its hood.
The sixth generation seems to make even more progress though, as speculations that there will be three engine variants for enthusiasts:
In addition to the engine being offered in three variations, a test mule of the vehicle was spotted by paparazzi with an independent rear suspension. This offers a great deal in innovation to the Ford Mustang since there has never been a Ford Mustang that offered this to-date.
The sixth generation Ford Mustang will also be getting a much-needed facelift. Although there is an appeal to the current Ford Mustang, enthusiasts are ready for something new and innovative.
Mustang fully intends to sculpt the new mustang with a sharp and futuristic design as an incorporation with its new engine and suspension. Moving away from the "retro" look and toward the "modern" look, Ford wants to appeal more to the "Generation Y" group, focusing on those born between the 1980s and early 1990s.
Ford Mustang fully intends to keep the long hood, short deck retro aspect of the Mustang to ensure it looks like – a Mustang. However, it seems to be inspired by the Ford Evo mixed with the 1968 coupe.
When will it Be Released?
While there is much speculation in regards to the Ford Mustang parts and design, the announcement of the new Mustang is soon.
The new Mustang design will be unveiled during the 2014 New York Motor Show on the 50th anniversary of the Mustang. As part of the 50th anniversary and paying homage to the 1964 1/4 Mustang – Ford is expected to release a limited edition 2014 1/2 model to be sold in limited numbers.
However, the confirmation date for release will be announced in Australian in August 2013, expecting to hit UK and Australian markets in 2016 – completely replacing the Ford Falcon.
What Does This Mean For India?
Since Ford intends to make the Mustang available for right-hand drivers, this global redesign looks to be the beginning of a new revolution for Mustang users.
No longer intended to be an "American Muscle" car, India might be a targeted market for Ford in the future with this sixth-generation Mustang. Even more though, even if it is not available for retail in India, it can be imported from Australia and UK countries to sustain a car enthusiast.
If you are already contemplating this purchase for your home in India, consider looking at Mustang parts to ensure you understand the overall costs of replacements and shipping costs. Mustangs can be a costly upkeep, so ensure you understand what you are in store for when it pertains to your future car purchases.
