Hyundai Elantra and Sonata broke Records in 2012

Hyundai Elantra is the 2012 north American car of the year.Sonata a has also done an outstanding job in 2012.Both models have created new sales records in 2012.Hyundai Elantra GT hatch and coupe helped Elantra in its sales.the sonata hybrid and 4door coupe helped sonata to set sales records.

Until December Elantra was solid in 186361units will Elantra get good sales at December as well the sales will reach 200000.

The sonata had reached 225961 units until December.The GLS trim sold 52%,the limited trim sold 22%,the Se trim sold 18%,Turbo 274p sold 13@and the hybrid sold 8% of the total sales.

This made Hyundai to attain a firm stance at US and the world.Soon Hyundai will be the worlds largest car manufacturer.

Hyundai I-ONIQ Concept

Hyundai has started plans in the electric cars segment.Hyundai currenty has no pure electric cars expect sonata Hybrid.

Now Hyundai came up with an exciting concept Hyundai I-ONIQ.It is an electric sports car which will be competing against BMW i series.The car comes with extremely striking and futuristic looks.

The I-ONIQ is over four meters long .Th engine will be a gasoline.Its styling is based on Hyundai's fluidic design language.the grill is all new with piercing look.The It has a coupe like looks but also provides good headroom and visibility due to the intelligent design of the roof.The headlights are the larger version of the foglamps seen on other Hyundai's and they don't blend with the design.But overall the nose is indeed rouge and animalistic.

We can expect the interiors to be futuristic as well.Its a sports car so the controls and instrument cluster will be driver friendly.There are two large doors opening sidewards on the side. So both front and rear passengers can get in and out with ease.So it is a good concept for a sporty family.


Its sheer length offers good space for the front and rear passengers.It tends to be sporty on the front seats and comfy on the rear seats.

But we suspect who will be the buyers of I-ONIQ because no one would be interested in an electric sports car as electric means reduced sportiness in cars.May be it will just be a concept.

People who wants efficient sports cars are less because sport cars are for sportiness not for fuel efficiency.

Hyundai new Santa Fe launched in China

Hyundai's New Santa Fe is to be launched in India next year.
Hyundai has made a Storm edge design of the SUV in china on Christmas eve.This agile SUV will compete against Nissan X trail,Toyota For tuner,Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan to tempt the Chinese.

In China the SUV has two pairs of petrol engines a 2.0 l one and a2.4l one.The 2.4l is the old one which generates 189 hp of power while to 2.0l turbocharged engine delivers the power of a arrogant 245hp.Both engines are mated with only six speed automatic gearbox and no manual is available.

The New Santa Fe is assembled in china itself which helps to reduce its cost by 20%.The older car was imported to china with large excise duty.The new car is priced between 19.8 to 27.4 lakhs in China.

In India the new Santa Fe will only have the outside changes and nothing more.The engine will be the same2.2l diesel engine which produces 194 hp of power.The santa fe has the most powerful engine in its segment in India.

Hyundai has finished costumer study and will launch it in India in mid 2013.The prices will be about 25 lakhs which makes it a bit pricier in the segment.

The diesel engine will steady up the sales of Santa Fe for sure

Hyundai Veloster C3 Roll Top Concept Car

Hyundai has a lot of potential in them.The veloster C3 concept reveals it.Above is a scooped video of Veloster C3 test driving in LA.

The c4 veloster has some major changes to the exterior design.The headlamps look a bit sharper and curvy.There is a large air damp to cool the powerful engine.The fog lamps are round.Now the front looks really sporty and muscular and resembles a snake ready to bite with its fangs.there are two air intake son the bonnet as well.The windows create a triangle on the side.It also looks like the height has been decreased considerably.

The rear also gets some upgrades with new blackened bumpers.The hatch led is be small bit it is connected to the sunroof so you can load luggage easily .If you open both the hatch lid and sun roof at the same time even a man can enter the car through the hatch it is that much big.We have seen a boy lifting a bike out of veloster.There is a reversing camera beneath the Hyundai badge at the rear.The rear headlamps look sporty as well .The roof line really curves down as it reaches the rear.Twin exhausts are used to emit the gas.

The interiors look sporty as well.On the car dash color is fully black.the central console is a bit bulgy in the midde and has a good layout.The above car uses a six speed manual transmission.

We dont no much about cars engine.We think it is powered by a V6.It really performed a good job in the streets and freeways of LA.

Hyundai NFC concept car replaces our keys with smartphones

This week the ever so popular car manufacturer Hyundai is showing off a brand new type of NFC capability. Something surely we’ve all thought about before. Wouldn’t it be nice to unlock and start our cars all with our smart phone? Leave those bulky keys and keyless entry add-ons at home. This new smart car uses NFC tags to do just that.


It’s being called the Hyundai “Connectivity Concept” Car and is being shown off and previewed at the manufacturer’s European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. This new concept is being shown on the manufacturer’s New Generation i30 car, using Near Field Communication (NFC) to complete the connection.
It’s simple. You use your NFC capable smartphone and pair it with the NFC tag nicely integrated into the vehicle and a quick tap unlocks the car. Then they’ve got a nice mat inside where you’ll also place the phone which acts as a stream to their 7-inch display. There you’ll get music, video, radio, phone contacts and much more. Obviously they won’t be encouraging Angry Birds on the display, but I’m sure we can hack that feature into it too.

That isn’t all either. Once placed inside the car that same mat doubles as a wireless charging dock. No wires needed. Simply place your wireless charging capable Nexus 4, DROID DNA, HTC Butterfly and some of those Nokia Lumia phones on the mat and you’ll be charged in no time. They’ll be using MirrorLink technology for Google Maps GPS, and tons of other things are possible with this technology. Obviously this is just a start, but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing much more at CES this year with cars integrating our smartphones.

Hyundai is Planning a new i20 sedan

Hyundai Accent(Verna) has been losing out in the car market.So there is an urgency on Hyundai  to replace it with a new model.Many car manufactures like Suzuki and Toyota have won with booth attached sedans of their hatchbacks.The swift dz ire is very popular in the world.Hyundai is also continuing that path

Hyundai has planned to build a new sedan based on the next generation i20 hatch.It could be a sub four meter vehicle to get excise befits.
Most entry level sedans have ordinary designs.So the i20 sedan with its fluidic design will have a crucial advantage here.

The sedan will also be powered with the same 1.2l and 1.4l petrol engine and and the popular 1.4l diesel engine The sedan will share the same design of the hatch.5 speed manual transmission will aid the petrol engines while the diesel have 6 speed manual.Both petrol and diesel will be available with an automatic transmission also.

We expect the price to be between 7 to 9 lakhs.that is about 15000 dollars.

New Genesis Sedan on 2014

Hyundai is trying to get a big share out of the luxury sedan market.Hyundai had launched the Genesis sedan is 2012 but it did not workout.How can a rear wheel drive Asian sedan compete against fine European ones.

But never underestimate Hyundai because they always comes with a surprise.To keep up with the competition Hyundai will launch a new Genesis sedan at 2014.The new one has been spotted test driving near the Hyundai plant at Germany.The new model is entirely different than the current one.It looks similar two Hyundai Azera.When viewed from the side you will mistake it as Azera.

The new car will have modern LED lights around the headlight and a revised rear end.The platform looks like slightly modified to benefit from new suspension components and as a new car it will loss a few pounds of weight as well.

The car will be powered by a 3.8l V and a 5l V8.But there are rumors that Hyundai is planning to use 3.2l turbocharged V6 which is currently under development on the car as well.If the turbocharged V6 is finished it will have a crucial advantage over the rivals in fuel efficiency.Expect the genesis sedan to be priced close to BMW 3 series than five series.

New Hyundai i30 Coming soon

Hyundai is all set to bring the Hyundai i30 to the world by early 2013. The new model comes with a few exterior updates and some engine tweaks as well.The new i30 is expected to get new headlamps and fog lamps.Hyundai may redesign the rear hatch part of the i30 s it looks a bit funky




This new model will be offered in two trims namely; Hyundai i30 Active and Elite. The new i30 petrol version is to house the 1.6-litre GDi engine that will churn out a respectable 133bhp and 164Nm of peak torque. The diesel version on the other hand offers 126bhp with 260Nm of peak torque. Both the engine versions will have a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission option. The automatic gearbox gets the sequential shift mode.

In terms of features and equipment, Hyundai as usual throws in a bunch of features to grab the customer’s attention. These include Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and ABS with EBD & Brake Assist System (BAS), seven airbags, etc.

The Hyundai i30 base model will come with a price tag of Rs. 13.14 lakh while the top-end model comes in at Rs. 15.76 lakh. Hyundai India have as yet made no statement regarding the possibility of the Hyundai i30 coming to India. However considering the success of both the i10 and especially the i20, it may be a wise move to introduce a downrated diesel version of the i30 in India. Honda Brio vs Hyundai i10

Hyundai i10 was a great success on the Indian roads.But now it has a rival from an unexpected quarter the Honda Biro.Actually brio is of a higher class than the i10.But it is been priced close to that of the i10's.


Honda brio looks extremely sporty and funky.In this comparison it is the bigger car. But its bigger size doesn't mean it is spacious.Most  of brio,s length has been used to carve out its unique design.The two part grille and oval headlights are impressive.




The slopping roof-line almost create a triangular rear window.if you look at brio from side you may see two triangles in roof line and character lines.

The most funky part is the all glass tailgate and triangular rear lights.Some may find this striking but for others this design would be hard to digest.

Hyundai i10 is quite blended with the eye.It is styled in a way that every category of drivers would love it.There is nothing funky about i10 and it is designed smartly.We love the hexagonal grill and stretched headlamps.though an old design it still looks fresh.





The interiors of the Honda Brio is not so fabulous.It is very ordinary and we can see that Honda has squeegeed it to reduce cost.The color combination of the dashboard is not so nice and the central console is pale.you wont get a music player even on the top variant.
there is no parcel tray and rear wash and wipe as standard.The rear power window switches are conventional ones and you only get a radio for entertainment.

But the older i10 has a far better interiors than the brio.The dash color is good and the central console is layed out properly.You get blue-tooth rear wash and wipe cd playerand rear parking sensors as standard on the top end variant.The plastic quality is also good in the i10.i10 is also the spacious of the two with 2800mm of wheelbase for the brios 2445.There is enough legroom and headroom on the front and backseat.But due to less width 3 passengers the rear would be a bit tight and the seets are a bit upright.i10 also gets a 250l boot to boast.

The brio is spacious on the front and it feels very wide.But at the back legroom is not sufficient but it is okay.The back seats have good with and good undertigh support.The seats are also cushioned well. The real problem would be the tiny boot space of just 150l.you can hardly put two shopping bags in brio's boot.

On the performance front brio is powered by a 1.2l 88 bhp engine while the i10's 1.2l engine makes 79 bhp.The brio reaches the 100km mark in just bellow 13 seconds so it is the fastest car in its class.But in city speeds brio is not the fastest.The rio has a free revving engine which is a delight to drive in highways but a little notchy in the city.You may have to constantly change the gears on the city.Biro's engine is well refined even at the redline the engine dosent feel noisy and the engine forces you to visit th redline which gives you plenty of adrenaline.

The i10 however is 10 bhp less than brio and it takes 15 seconds to reach 100km.But it is a peppy engine and you dont have to rev it up hard to get the power and driving i10 is comfy in cities.You require minimal gear changes in the i10.On refinement i10's engine is a bit noisy

Brio handles corners with like a sports car as it overs plenty of grip and confidence.You can do hard corners in triple digit speeds with ease.Brio also offers good ride at low speeds and high speeds.Only big bumps pierce through the suspension.



But i10 doesnt inspire much confidence at the corners as its rear tends to slide out at higher speeds in corners.i10 run out of grip easily due to its thin 13 inch tyres.i10 offers a comfy ride at lower speeds but at higher speeds bumps filter through the suspension.Hyundai has a long way to improve in suspension tuning.

So who is the winner the funky brio or the smart i10.

It looks like brio wins by a narrow lead because of its fun to drive nature and Honda's sensible suspension tuning.But in city i10 is the best suited one.

Hyundai Maintains Growth This year

 Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter accounted the domestic sales of 34,751 units (35,000 units) and Exports of 21,011 units (22,071 units). The aggregate sales stood at 55,762 units (57,071units).

Commenting on the November sales, Mr Rakesh Srivastava, Vice President- Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “The adverse market conditions due to high interest rates and inflation continued to pose challenges for growth. Increased diesel fuel price temporarily affected the strong momentum of diesel car sales. However, the festival season stimulated sales of petrol cars. Eon demand continues to grow month on month leading to supply challenges.”

Hyundai Motor , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, today launched its long-awaited exclusive model, officially entering the biggest and most competitive segment in the country's auto market.It could be the future i20 for India
The Hyundai HB20 compact hatchback will be the first model to be produced at Hyundai's fully-owned new plant in Piracicaba, which will officially hold an opening ceremony later this year. Production of the new vehicle will begin on Sept. 20, while sales will begin in early October.
"For Hyundai, the launch of HB20 means a lot more than simply presenting a new model. Unlike our other models currently offered in Brazil, HB20 is the first model strategically developed and produced exclusively for the Brazilian market. This new car is optimized to the taste of Brazilian consumers and the driving conditions in this country, with years of dedication from our engineers. I guarantee with pride that HB20 will change the perception of Brazilian customers in the small car segment," Chang Kyun Han, President of HMB, said at the launching event, which was held at Hotel Transamerica Ilha de Comandatuba in the eastern Brazilian state of Bahia yesterday.
Offering modernity and equipped with the latest technologies to differentiate itself from the competition, all nine versions of the Hyundai HB20 will have a comprehensive package of items offered as standard from entry levels: Hydraulic power steering, dual front airbags, air-conditioning, a spoiler with a built-in brake lights, a rear windshield wiper and storage compartments for all passengers, to name a few.  while the number "20" is the company's characterization for vehicles in this segment, a category that includes models assembled on small or compact vehicle platforms.

Next-gen Hyundai i10 spied

First-ever spy pictures of the new Hyundai i10 being tested in India, will be officially unveiled at next year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

Hyundai is readying the replacement for the i10 and proof of this comes from the first-ever spy pictures of the car being tested on Indian soil.

Though heavily disguised, it looks longer and wider than the current car and the silhouette of the grille behind the cladding suggests the new i10 follows Hyundai's ‘Fluidic’ design theme. Other clues pointing to this are the swept-back headlights, the low, elongated chin and the rising shoulder line. Top-end variants could get alloy wheels and rear parking sensors as well as fog lamps as standard equipment.
Hyundai is also developing a new 1.1-litre common-rail diesel for use in this new i10. There will also be a new 1.0-litre Kappa petrol engine which will be more fuel efficient than the current 1.1-litre Epsilon motor. The modern, 79bhp, 1.2-litre VTVT motor will continue alongside the new engines.
This new car, codenamed BA, will be officially revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and will be launched in India thereafter.

Hyundai Elantra Review

Hyundai introduced the 3rd gen Elantra on 2007 but it was a disaster.For a while the executive saloon  segment was unrepresented by Hyundai.Now at 2012 Hyundai has reintroduced Elantra in its fifth gen.Hyundai is key point in advertising Elantra is that it is the north American Car of the Year 2012.
