Hyundai is all set to bring the Hyundai i30 to the world by early 2013. The new model comes with a few exterior updates and some engine tweaks as well.The new i30 is expected to get new headlamps and fog lamps.Hyundai may redesign the rear hatch part of the i30 s it looks a bit funky
This new model will be offered in two trims namely; Hyundai i30 Active and Elite. The new i30 petrol version is to house the 1.6-litre GDi engine that will churn out a respectable 133bhp and 164Nm of peak torque. The diesel version on the other hand offers 126bhp with 260Nm of peak torque. Both the engine versions will have a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission option. The automatic gearbox gets the sequential shift mode.
In terms of features and equipment, Hyundai as usual throws in a bunch of features to grab the customer’s attention. These include Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and ABS with EBD & Brake Assist System (BAS), seven airbags, etc.
The Hyundai i30 base model will come with a price tag of Rs. 13.14 lakh while the top-end model comes in at Rs. 15.76 lakh. Hyundai India have as yet made no statement regarding the possibility of the Hyundai i30 coming to India. However considering the success of both the i10 and especially the i20, it may be a wise move to introduce a downrated diesel version of the i30 in India.
