Audi A3 e-tron revealed on Geneva

Electric cars are getting more and more poplar nowadays due to fuel price hikes and environmental issues related with fossil fuel cars. The Audi A e-tron has made a spectacular impact in the Geneva motor show. The car really electrified the show. The e-tron is a five door plug-in hybrid sportback.

The car has a 1.4 l TFSI engine which generates 150 HP of power and an electric motor generates 102 HP of power. Both motors work together and produce 204 HP of power and 350Nm of torque which is delivered through a dual-clutch 6-speed e-S tronic gearbox. The car has a FWD layout.

The car amazingly just takes about 7.7 seconds to reach 100 km and can reach up to 222 km/h. Audi claims the car to have 50km/l of mileage and emission rates as low as 35g/km. Driver can switch the car between electric mode and petrol mode. In electric mode car can speed up to 130km/h using electric power only and can give range at 50km/h.

Audi had said nothing about the launch of the car. Audi will launch the A3 in India to compete with the upcome Mercedes Benz A class and BMW 1 series. We can hope to get the e-tron hybrid option too. with the hybrid.
