2014 Mini Cooper S hatch spied video

Mini is a company with an iconic and glorious past. Mini Cooper is a car in which past glory and present advanced technology meets. Mini cooper is currently adopted by BMW. Here we have a spied video of the 2014 Mini cooper spied in UK by World Car Fans.com Watch the video.






The 2014 Mini cooper will be revealed in 2013. Not in Geneva motor show but in some private ceremony or so. Production will be flagged of at March 2014. The video suggests the next gen Mini hatch is more bigger and well proportioned than the current car. The car has a new smaller grille lengthy hood and A pillars are thinner. The traditional Mini DNA is left unaltered. The means the car will gave a four door options too.

The spy shots suggests some changes to the interiors too. The big central mounted meter console is replaced by a   smaller instrument panel placed under the steering wheel.

The car spied was testing  in yellow camouflage, so we can't say much about the design. The new Mini cooper S hatch will be front wheel drive and will share the UKL platform with upcoming small cars from BMW like BMW 1 series.

More engine options will be offered on the Mini Cooper which includes the 1.5 l 3cylinder engine producing 148 HP diesel and 128 HP in petrol variants. The more powerful Mini with 1.6 l Turbocharged petrol will have two varints prodcing 184 HP  and 217 HP respectively. Rumors are there about a pug in hybrid option devoloped in co-operation with PSA.

The next gen Mini Cooper S hatch will replace the current one in India too at March 2014. Currently the Mini is exported to India which is priced 28  lakhs which is very pricy. Government has increased duties from 75% to 100% that means exported Mini's will be even more pricy.

We can expect the 148 HP diesel engine, 128 HP petrol engine options in India.
