New Hyundai i10 spy shots and launch date

Hi, Here we have got some more spy shots of the 2014 Hyundai i10 test driving in UK in harsh winery weather. The car was dressed in camouflage and we still were not able to find the changes in the design. The new Hyundai i10 will be launched globally including US and other developed markets as a reply to Volkswagens cheap car Up.

The new i10 will have an entirely new re-styled exteriors. The car will get a fluidic treatment like the new Hyundai i20. The spied car seems to have the same platform and dimensions as in the current one. But the car will get a more premium interiors and a lengthy equipment list too.

The headlamps of the test mule are triangular ones instead of the sleekly stretched ones used in current i10 and the car gets a new triangular fog lamps too. The window line curves up at the rear glass area like in the Eon and the door handles are pull type ones like in i20. It seems like the new i10 is not fully ready.

The rear htach of the car looks like throughly re-designed. The rear of the current gen i10 was not stylish. The new i10 gets a more slanted rear glass area like in the i20 to obtain a round fluidic shape.

So we can't expect the new i10 quickly, we will have to wait until the end of the year for the new i10 to debut in India. The car will be probably revealed at the Frankfurt motor show on September. Hyundai will produce the car in plants in India and Turkey as cheap labor and raw materials are available. Hyundai is currently the number one car exporter in India.

New i10 will be available in three engine options. The IRDE unit will be replaced with a 1.0 l Kappa engine which is more efficient. The much needed and awaited engine will be the new 1.1 l turbo diesel engine. The current 1.2 l Kappa will be tuned to have more power in the 2014 i10.

We have reported earlier that Hyundai won't replace the current gen i10 soon. Both cars will sell in harmony for the upcoming few years. Current gen i10 sells hot in India in about 8000 units per month. Hyundai will slot the new i10 between current i10 and i20. The new i10 will be a direct rival to segment king Maruthi Swift while the current i10 will take care of Wagonr and Ford Figo at the lower end.

Expecting the car to be launched in December.
