Tata working on a new sub 4m sedan

Indian people prefers a spacious and luxurious sedan over a sporty premium hatchback. Among sedan sub 4m sedans are very famous as they car far more cheap and attract less duties. Maruthi Suzuki as launched the new Swift Ire as a sub 4m sedan, and the car became a huge success despite of a stubbed awkward boot attachment, Honda Amaze and Mahindra Verito sub 4m sedans are expect soon on April.

So Tata Motors inspired by the success of sub 4m Swift Dz-ire is working on a new sub 4m sedan. We don't know much about the compact sedan. However we are pretty sure that they are developing one . Tata has two options. First is to cut off the boot of the upcoming face-lifted Indigo ECS or launch a new compact sedan based on the Manza or both.

Easiest and quickest way is to cut off the boot of the ECS and convert it into a compact sedan. Tata will be targeting to price the sedan very cheaply under 5 lakhs. Tata should be careful about the looks has they need to change the roof line to make the car radically proportioned like a true sedan instead of being a notch-back. Equal chances are given for a compact sedan based on the Manza too but sub 4m Indica ECS is a more practical option.

Here we have a rendered image of the sub 4m Tata indigo ECS face-lift. This face-lift has a swooping roof-line which quickly tends to lean down giving the car a notch back impression. Anyway the launch of a compact sedan will be necessary for Tata s growth in India. We can expect the sub 4m sedan by the end of this year or by the beginning of 2014.
