Meanwhile we have got some hot news about Chevrolet Sail sedan launch.Chevrolet has officially revealed the sale sedan in their website.We expect Chervolet Sail sedan to be launched in early february 2013.
The sail sedan deeply resembles the sail hatch at front which is designed in the 'U' theme. But the grille is tweaked a bit to recognize the sedan.The sail sedan is a sub 4 m sedan.So you don't get the real look of a sedan in it.But it looks more complete than sail hatch in designing.The b pillars are body colored unlike the black ones on the hatch.
The car looks identical to the hatch until the b pillars..On the side profile the waist line stretches completely to the tail lamps.The sedan also has a corvette inspired cockpit on the sides.The windows create a sinked boat shape('U' theme). The c pillar is small and from there the car suddenly swoops down to the rear and you get a flat boot stubbed on.
When you view it from the back you may think it is a coupe with a boot attached on the back.On the rear you get squared tail lamps a small bumper which together creates a u shape at the back.there is not a spoiler or any other lamps at the rear.
The Sail sedan offers plenty of features on the inside as well.You get safety feature like Dual airbags, ABS, EBD, collapsible steering , speed and impact sensing door locks and side impact beams.The car offers full blue tooth connectivity on the top end variant.The sail sedan will only get a manual air conditioner unlike the automatic climate control in the Swift Dz ire.The interiors will be the same but hey have a blue color scheme.
The Sail Sedan will be priced between 6 to 7.5 lakhs which puts it in the entry level sedan segment.Its major rivals are Swift Dz ire, Toyota Etios, Tata Manza and Mahindra Verito.

It needs some serious modifications. Character lines, or expansion in wheelbase could have been done..Just adding a boot space is not enough is doesn't bring it to the class of a sedan. I feel this car is just too lost out in its race to entry level saloons.
Yes you may be right.The sail sedan looks little old to the present.But it has more proportioned look than the swift Dzire and Honda Amaze which has a stubbed boot oddly pasted to the back.The sail sedan will be more spacious than the competition due to the special platform.
