Volkswagen aims to become the worlds
number one car maker by 2018. To become world number one Volkswagen
will have to increase their line up. Volkswagen is introducing
numerous cars in 2013 including some new models of polo. The cross
polo is a polo rugged with off road kit that will debut in India in
mid 2013. The cross polo is more ruggy and more bulky than polo.

Cross Polo is more longer than the Polo
and has some off road detailing to show off its off-roading
potential. The front bumper of the Cross Polo will be a new glossy
black one with a tilted air damp from that of the Polo and gets new
round and sporty fog lamps. There is a scuff plate at the bottom
which further enhances the Cross polos hard roading nature.
The black plastics are carried over to
the bottom of the sides and rear bumper as well. The wheel arches
also gets a new blackie treatment. The car gets new large17 inch
alloys to handle rough terrains. Cross polo has silver roof rails
which can carry up to 75kg of luggage.
The rear of Cross polo gets a new
blackish bumper with scuff plates and reflectors as well. The rear
silver diffuser adds to the rough off road capability. The tail lamps
of the Cross Polo is slightly tweaked to give it a more squarer look.
We can also expect a mounted spare wheel for the Indian Cross Polo as
it is not calculated to the total length of the car.
The interiors are not expected to get
some major changes. But the seat fabric and dashboard design will be
different to give Cross Polo a heavy look.
Overall black plastics and chrome scuff
plates makes Cross polo an off roader for sure. But it is a hatch
back and not an SUV so it wont excite you like other extreme
offroading SUVS. Cross Polo will be good for minor offroading and
will be pretty adaptable during normal driving as well. The Cross
Polo will be the first car to b powered by the Volkswagens new Indian
special 1.5 l diesel engine. Along with Cross Polo Volkswagen will
also launch a 1.6 GTD diesel and a 1.2 TSI petrol for the Polo.
We can expect the Cross Polo to be
priced around 7 lakhs. The Cross Polo will also feature automatic
transmission and CNG option as well.
