Honda is planning to launch the new CRV to India on February 2013.Honda is showing of various teaser images of the new CRV at their site. The CRV had been a flop in India. From October to January CRV wasn't even sold in one unit.We have spotted the new CRV test driving in various parts of the country.

The new CRV has some major changes to the exterior. There are plenty of chrome insets on the outside. The headlamps consist of two beams and projector for low beams and day time LEDs.The headlamps are attached to the grille and together create a wing shape. The gray shaded lower portion of the bumper and blackened part near the fog lamps makes it somewhat an aggressive SUV.

The wheel arches and side skirts also gets gray treatment.A thin sharp waist line flows from the wheel arches to the tail lamps handsomely. The twin five spoke alloys on CRV ands to the sportiness.Honda has created some triangular concepts with the window line and character lines.

The rear look extremely funkier while the rest of the new Honda CRV  is generically designed. The rear has some sort of zig zag tail lamps and a half bulgy and half scooped in tail. The rear bumper also get the gray flair as on the rest of the SUV.There is some sort of bulls horn on the rear roof as well.Doesn't that look stupid? The rear looks a bit oddly designed compared to the rest. The CRV looks like a generic SUV except for the rear part.Doesn't it?

The CRV gets a black and beige flair on the cabin. The gear lever is now integrated on to the dash. You get a driver information display at the top and a high resolution display(which has touch screen GPS, also acts as navigation system) at the center. The dashboard is designed in wing theme as well.

The CRV however doesn't come with a diesel engine and so it will still be a flop.Honda has a diesel engine on their pocket but it will be priced 31 lakhs so i is useless. There are two petrol engines available on the new CRV for India. The 2.0 l front wheel drive mated with six speed manual transmission and a 2.4 l all wheel drive mated to a five speed auto box.

The CRV has a comfortable cabin a decent ride quality and good handling. It has some agile looks as well.

Honda is targeting to boost sales but the CRV wont work in India. It is fist of all a soft roader with only petrol engines available. The CRV terribly lacks off road ability and Indians are not fond of SUVs which cant handle offload. The fuel economy is under 10 km/l and it has an everest high price. So Honda has to come up with some new tactics to this segment in India.Don't you think that the new CRV is useless for an Indian? please comment on the comment box.
