BMW has officially launched the face lifted version of their best selling car X1. The face lifted X1 was launched in 14th February 2013. Although the face-lift hardly has any changes on the skin.
The new X1 SUV from BMW is priced at 27.9 lakhs which may be bit hefty. BMW president Philip Von Saar revealed that they will launch the new X1 and 1 series by the end of tis year. So this X1 is just some trick to sell the remaining stock of old X1s? Not at all .
The new X1 boasts plenty of cosmetic changes to make the car look even more sportier and aggressive. The exterior tweaks include:
- New LED accented headlamps
- New front Bumper with a tweaked diffuser
- New Grille
- Side mirrors with integrated turning signals
- New rear bumpers plus rear diffusers.
So not much changes to the skin. But the X1 i very appealing to look. The interiors of the new X1 gets some tweaks as well like dual tone interiors, chrome accents, and electroplated gear lever and cup holders. These changes surely enhances the premium feel. The suspension of the new X1 is made a bit softer to offer far more comfortable ride. harsh ride quality was a con of the BMW X1 which is now solved. The steering is made a bit more light as well for city driving.
Sad news is the face lifted X1 will carry out the same 2.0 l diesel engine which produces 170 HP of power and 350 Nm of torque. The Steptronic auto gearbox on the X1 with six speeds combines with the engine to produce a sprite ride. The gears can be controlled manually as well.
BMW hopes to get back on track and defeat Audi Q3 with this face-lift. Prices are from 27.9 lakhs to 32.5 lakhs for the new X1. The prices of the Q3 has been hiked recently and this makes the X1 most affordable premium SUV.
