Honda Brio was launched in Indian market a couple of years ago. It was a good styled hatchback with a god sprity engine. Brio is currently selling decently with 4000 units per month. Honda has also announced the launch of Brio Amaze sedan in India in future. Amaze will be the first car to host Honda s new 1.5 l diesel engine.
Honda is also developing an MPV based on the Brio too. The Brio MPV is almost ready and it could be revealed in 2013 Indonesian motor show. Brio and Amaze has been a huge hit on markets like Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa and Brazil. Honda Brio sedan will be first launched in Indonesia.Compact MPVs have good market in Indonesia and Indonesians are MPV lovers. major rivals to Brio MPV will be our familiar Suzuki Ertiga,Toyota Avanza and Mazda VX-1(re- badged Ertiga). So the brio MPV will be showcased in the 2013 Indonesian Motor show held in Jakartha at September.
We are not sure whether Brio MPV will be launched in India. There is a huge potential for compact MPVs in Indian market. Suzuki Ertiga has been a huge hit India and has been selling hot with 8000 units per month.So atmosphere is ideal in Indian market for the launch of Brio MPV. Honda has not confirmed that yet, they are not committing to our doubts. India has pretty big large families and Brio MPV could be ideal for them if priced hot.
Launching the Brio MPV in India is going to be easy. Just sell the same car in Indonesia with a restyled interiors. Honda just has to ditch the 1.5 l diesel engine from the Amaze, and the Brio MPV will surely be a huge hit when launched.
