Suzuki Swift Sport SZ-R edition launch on UK( 0-100 8.7s)

Suzuki Swift-SZR
Every one in India knows about Maruthi Suzuki Swift. Currently Swift is the best selling premium hatchback in India. The swift comes with everything a car enthusiast needs God performance,  sprity engine and most importantly precise handling.

But recently Indians complained about wanting a more powerful version of the Swift to feed their desire for speed. There had been rumors earlier about the launch of a 1.5 l sports edition of the Swift. But there is no controversy now about a Swift hot hatch.

Any way Suzuki has launched an exciting new edition of the Swift called Swift Sport SZ-R. This is indeed a fully sporty edition of the Swift. The car has some design changes to make it look more attractive and sportier.

The design changes are as follows:
  • Black exterior
  • Blazing red paint job for roof, rear spoiler and side mirrors
  • Individually numbered door sills
  • Red fabric stitching on Steering wheel, floor and door mats.

Most exciting part about the Swift sports edition is that it is powered by a powerful engine. The1.6l petrol engine produces 134 HP of power and 160 Nm of torque. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in just about 8.7 seconds(about 6 seconds faster than the current Swift). With this huge power on tap the car car obtains 18.75 km/l of mileage(note: with petrol from UK, Mileage may slightly decrease if in India).

The Sport SZ-R edition is priced at 14429(about 11 lakhs INR) which is just 500 pons pricer than the standard Swift. We can expect the car to be priced 9 lakhs when produced in India.

So this car is the perfect solution for the hungry car enthusiasts in India. But the big question is will Maruthi produce a Swift hot hatch for India? A hot hatch will be necessary as Fiat Punto Abarth is launched in June and there is a chance for all car enthusiasts going for the powerful and cheaply priced Abarth. So the relevance of Swift hot hatch is increasing now.
