Jeep Indian Line up for 2013 containing 3 SUVs

 

Fiat has already announced the entry of Jeep models in India in 2013. Three SUV s will be launched by Fiat in co-operation with Chrysler. US manufacturer Chrysler is famous for its whole stable of SUV s called Jeep. Here we have a list of Jeep vehicles launched in 2013.

Jeep Wrangler

First to the Indian shores will be the jeeps most iconic and extreme SUV the wrangler. The wrangler was launched in 1987 to replace Jeeps World War II Willy Jeep. The wrangler has the same old boxy design from its launch in 1987. It is not a modern or stylish SUV, it is more of a war icon. The newest Jeep Wrangler is only old on the design. It hosts pretty much modern tech in mechanicals and interiors as well. The new gen Wrangler uses live axles on front and rear. The Jeep Wrangler's Indian version is likely to be powered by a 2.8 Diesel engine which produces 197 HP. Expect the Wrangler in India during mid 2013.

Jeep Wrangler Long Wheel base Version

Jeep is also planning to launch a more lengthier version of the Wrangler too in India. The longer wheel base version will have three rows of seats which enhances practicality and space. The lengthier version will be launched together with the regular Wrangler.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

Last up will be our favorite Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee is a far more stylish and modern SUV from Jeep and suits best to Indians. This SUV is the most famous Jeep worldwide. Based on the Mercedes M class the fourth gen Cherokee will be in India at the end of 2013. Jeep has recently showcased the face lifted US version Grand Cherokee at the Detroit motor show. The face-lift includes some changes to the exterior to make the SUV more appealing. The face lift also includes some extensive features and a new 8 speed automatic gear box as well which is more efficient and less polluting. The European version of the face-lifted Jeep will be displayed in the Geneva motor show. We don't know which version will be available in India. We expect the 3.0 l diesel which churns out 237 HP in Indian roads. A 3.6 l V6petrol could be opted as well.

Both Wrangler and Grand Cherokee will be exported to India.

Two other SUV s are also on the pipeline for Jeep. Both of them will be priced less than 10 lakhs. The first one will be based on Fiats upcoming 500X and it is likely to be priced around 7 lakhs. This SUV will be a strong rival for Ford Ecosport. The next SUV under pipeline will be based on the current Jeep Compass which is the smallest Jeep available on market which will be fighting Renault Duster.

Any way plenty of SUV s are coming to Indian market in future. SUV segment is booming in Indian market and expect dozens of them in 2014.
