Zen Estilo is actually a flop. It is not a popular car made by the most popular car makers in India. So it doesn't deserve to stand there. Petrol car price hike has seriously effected the Zen Estilo. So it is time that Maruthi discontinues Zen Estilo
Zen Estilo had a K series engine. But the suspension set up, interiors and build quality was pretty much not good at all. We can say that the Estilo is the worst drivers car ever. It has an unresponsive steering , harsh ride, and really bad handling. So it is a flop. Zen Estilo just sold 1000 units in January(average sales in 2012 just 800 units). Lots of parts of Estilo has been piled up in Maruthi plants. So to escape from the loss cost buy that car Maruthi will have to end it after stocks are out.
Not only Estilo is not selling but it is disturbing the sales of Maruthi 's famous car Wagon r. We can expect Maruthi to pull plug on Estilo on March 2013. Stopping production of Estilo will help Maruthi to make popular cars like Swift on its place and to reduce booking period.
We can also expect a massive discount for Zen Estilo in coming days. Dealers will reduce the cost by a fair amount to pull out the junk out of their warehouse.
Estilo may look good but it is basically a cosmetic upgrade of the old gen Mr Wagon that roamed around our roads in the past. It has not got even one similarity with the popular and good little Zen that sold in India earlier.
Maruthi has got plenty of cars in the 3.5 to 4.5 lakhs price tag. We have got cars like Wagon r, Alto K10, Estilo and A star. So so many cars will confuse the buyers and they will end up buying a Hyundai i10.

There is a chance that Maruthi will replace the A star too with a new one.
I say stopping production of Zen Estilo is a wise move by Maruthi. What is your opinion?
