Mercedes G63 AMG officially launched in India with price of 1.46 crores

Mercedes Benz has officially launched the G 63 AMG in India at a price of 1.46 crore. The G63 AMG will be the most powerful version of the G class line up. The G 63 AMG is more powerful and mightier than the G 55 AMG launched in 2010.





The Mercedes Benz G class has a pretty rich history. It was launched back in 1980 especially for the military services in Germany. Mercedes converted that military vehicle into a high performance and extreme off roding SUV which is the G class. G class s special military styling specially helped it a lot along its way. That is why the G class still has the same unaltered look which is not old school but iconic to be true.

G63 AMG India launch

The G63 AMG was first displayed at 2012 Beijing motor show as a replacement to the G 55 AMG. The G63 AMG gets some design changes to make it distinguishable. The font bumper is new with the larger air vents. The grille is neatly slated into two with the three pointed star dividing it which creates a simple everlasting image to the SUV. The G 63 AMG gets a new 5 spoke alloy wheels and side mounted exhaust pipes which adds a sporty flavor to the profile.

The name G63 suggests that the car gets a 6.3 l V8 but that engine is out into the catacombs now. The G 63 AMG gets a 5.5 l Twin Turbo V6 which produces 537 HP of power and 763 Nm of torque. So the G63 is more powerful than the out going G 55 AMG  by 44 HP and 60 Nm. The engine is coupled to a Speed shift plus 7 speed auto-gearbox which together enables the car to reach 100 km is swift 5.3 seconds. But sadly the speed is limited to 204 Km/h. The new G class also gets some new Eco features to increase fuel efficiency. It has an Eco stop start button which will automatically stop and start engine during halts a city driving. The car gets a new spray controlled direct injection system plus an alternator system which increase mileage by a fair margin.

The other AMG Features are:

• Meter console, steering wheel and shift system of SLS AMG.
• New infotainment system with a color monitor
• Carbon Fiber trim strips
• AMG leather seas which are perforated.
• Blind spot Assist
• Distronic Cruise control system which is radar controlled
• Reversing camera.
• Trailer stability Assist
• Hill hold

But the price of 1. 46 crores will  make the G 63 AMG only available for those lucky few.
