We recently witnessed the X1 face-lift launch on February. Now we have got spy shots of the BMW X3 face-lifted variant test driving in the snowy Europe. As expected the face lifted X just get some mild makeovers. The car could be showcased on the upcoming Geneva motor show.

The second generation X3 was launched back in 2010. The car is now three years old and requires a major refreshment as it is getting old. The Audi Q5 is offering serious threat to the X3. The sales of X3 had fall down severely on 2008, although now the SUV is healing up.

As we said there is nothing much to the face lift. The front and rear bumpers have been camouflaged. The front Fascia of the SUV gets some updates and there are some minor changes to the rear too.

The changes are limited to:
  • Restyled air intake between grille and number plate.
  • Tweaked grille
  • Tweaked headlamps
  • New small fog lamps
  • Revised rear bumper
  • New rear number plate
Under the bonnet the car will be powered by same engine options are before. A new 2.0 l  4 cylinder twin turbo diesel from the s18d variant could also be added. The new engine produces 146 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque. The add on of the cheap diesel will make X3 more affordable and sensible for car buyers.

The car will be showcased at Geneva motor show held on March 5th and it will be launched in Europe after a couple of months. So their is scope for the launch of new BMW X3 in India in the mids of this year. We are not sure about the face-lift in India , BMW may ignore the face-lift for Indian-spec X3.
