2015 Mercdes Ben C class Spied from Stuttgart

Mercedes Benz s bread and butter was always the C class sedan. But now the car is getting a bit old. The current gen Cl class was introduced in 2007 and has gone through a minor face lift on 2011. But the Audi A4 and BMW 3 series are a serious threat to the bit old C class.

So C class needs to upgrade to counter attack the rivals. So Mercedes busy making the next generation C class. We found a test mule of the next-gen C class roaming around in Mercedes home city Stuttgart. The car was covered in spy cloths and driving in public roads.

The new C class will be a completely new generation with some new designing and powerhouse as well. The car will get a complete make over. We can't say nothing about the design changes as the test mule is one of the early stages of the next gen C class.

The C class is the cheapest Mercedes sedan yet in the market. Although a new A class sedan CLA is arriving soon. The new C class will be based on a new platform called MRA (Mercedes Rear Wheel drive Architecture platform). The new car will be fairly larger than the old car.

We expect the length to be increased by 100 mm and the wheelbase to be increased by 80 mm to make the car to have a luxurious and spacious rear seat. Most C class owners globally (expect for USA) will be chauffeur driven so back seat comfort is very important. The dimensions are increased to give room for the new entrant the much smaller CLA sedan.

The new C class will have plenty of engine options to choose from. The base variant will get a four cylinder engine producing 184 HP of power and the powerful V6 will get 330HP of power. The AMG version could be a Twin Turbo 4.0 l or 5.5 l V8. This makes the current C63 AMG the last car running on the precious naturally aspirated 6.3 l motor.

The next gen C class will be showcased on the 2014 Geneva motorshow.
