Maruthi Suzuki SX4 cross over in India in 2014

Maruthi Suzuki is planning to launch the cross over version of the SX4 in next year. The car will be called SX4 cross over and will be based on the recently face lifted SX4 cross over from China. The cross over will get some major changes to suit the likings of Indians

Nowadays Indian market is showing enormous interest in mini SUVS and Cross overs. Indians are beginning to like the bold tough looks very much. Recently launched Renault Duster has been a huge success. So other car makers too inspired by the success of the Duster is busy making SUVs from their part.

Maruthi Suzuki SX4 was launched back in 2007. It is selling decently behind the shadows of the Swift Dzire. But there are some other things you need to know about SX4. The SX4 is available in sedan and cross-over versions. In some places sedan version and in some places hatchback versions are sold. But in China both of these are sold. Maruthi spotted that there is a huge potential for SX4 cross-over in India. And now there are currently developing the Indian version of SX4 Cross over.

The Indian version of SX 4 Cross over will under go some significant changes to make it look more appealing and sporty. Anyway we had not got images of the Indian version yet. The Chinese S cross over underwent a face lift recently.

The SX4 cross over will sport a different grille and headlamp design than the regular SX4. It will get some claddings on the side sills and the bumper. Roof rails are going to be added to make it more of a cross-over. The ground clearance will be fairly increased and suspension will be stiffened.

Any way the interiors will not be changed. But they will under go some slight changes to make the cross over distinguishable from the sedan. The Cross over will be powered by the same 1.3 l multi-jet diesel engine and the 1.5 l K series petrol engine which produces 90 HP and 100HP respectively.

So stay tuned on the roads. If you see any test mule SX4 cross overs roaming kindly let us know.
