There is no doubt that Polo is Volkswagens staple car for the Indian market. The Polo was launched back in 2010. Now it is three years after its launch. Although Polo is selling in good numbers the car is getting old and Volkswagen had not done any updates to the car at all.

Volkswagen debuted in India with their luxury sedan the Passat. But only after the launch of Polo in 2010 Volkswagen became famous in Indian market and got a firm ground to rise up. Volkswagen also launched the sedan version of the Polo the Vento back in 2011.

So it is indeed time for a face lift for the Polo. But don't expect any face-lifts soon. Till now Volkswagen did not gave a proper face-lift to Polo. They have just tweaked the headlamps and added blue tooth and AUX in facility doesn't mean a face-lift. They are just slight make overs to boost up the sales.

Volkswagen will not face lift the Polo in 2013. Instead they will launch the next generation Polo in 2015. The 2015 Polo will get a new plat from and design too. Totally the new Polo will be completely a new car. The main problem of the current polo is insufficient rear seat space. This issue will be solved as the 2015 Polo will share the Volkswagen Golf s MQB platform which is more roomier and bigger than the current platform.

Current Polo uses the PQ25 platfrom which is pretty old now. The current platform is too compact for Polo and rivals come with more roomier and bigger dimensions than the Polo. The new Polo will get new more powerful and efficient engines too. A new 1.0 l turbocharged petrol and 1.2 l diesel motors will be added to the 2015 Polo. The 2015 Polo will also host automatic transmission option too.
