We are inching closer to the launch of
Honda s new CRV. But will the new CRV will be of any avail to boost
up the sales? The new CRV will be launched on next week. But it has
not got a diesel engine. There is a 1.6 l Earth Dream diesel engine
variable in the European CRV. But the European diesel engine can't
mate up with Indian Diesel and also it is gonna be very pricey
roughly around 30 lakhs.
The CRV is not a fantastic car but it barely sold in India. The main reasons were the lack of diesel engine and its lack of off roding. Indians have not much interest in soft-roding SUVs.
Any way the new CRV will be priced
aggressively thanks to the CDK route taken by Honda. He CKD sets CRV
free from high import duties and also a part of the assembling will
be done from India itself.
The new CRV is available in four
variants.
The impressive features of the new CRV
are
- 5 inch Multi info Display
- Eco assist system
- Eco mode
- Electric Sunroof
- 17-inch alloy wheels
- HID headlamps
- Headlight washers
- Electric Sunroof
- Auto-retracting side mirrors
- Cruise Control
- Paddle Shift
- Real time Four Wheel Drive
- AVN(Auto Video navigation)
- Reversing Camera
- Steering mounted controls
- 8 way adjustable powered driver seat
- Dual Zone Climate Control
- Hill Assist
- ABS, EBD, VSM
So plenty of equipments to justify the
price of 25 lakhs.
The new CRV has new Honda 5 speed
automatic transmission on all variants expect for the base variant.
The CRV gets a two new petrol engine which is far more powerful and
efficient than the current one. The 2.0 l petrol produces 156 HP of
power and 190 NM of torque while the more powerful 2.4 l petrol
engine delivers 190 HP of power and 226 Nm of torque.
The car is available in two after
market accessory kits named inspire and elegance.
The inspire kit has
- Chrome door visor
- Tailgate spoiler
- Running Board
- Side step Garnish (common)
- Exhaust Finisher (common)
While the Elegance kit has
- Honey comb grille
- Door lower
- Tail gate and fog lam garnish
- Side step Garnish (common)
- Exhaust Finisher (common)
The new company tag line for CRV is
'One life, many lives'.
Will this face-lift make any impact on
the sales of the CRV? I don't think so. The CRV s bad days will
continue until Honda introduces a new diesel engine or produce the
car locally to reduce cost. So basically CRV won't improve with this
face-lift, it will be left making few sales only. Honda will launch
the new 1.5 l earth dream diesel engine on the upcoming Amaze sedan.
Honda may power up this engine for the CRV soon.
