We have got some spy shots of some
unexpected cars in Chennai. Ford said they will launch 8 new cars to
the Indian market within 4 years. But now there is something fishy
going on inside Ford India.
We found old gen Ford Fusion sedan and
Ford Fiesta hatchback roaming around in Chennai. These cars were not
even in the list for Fords future model sheet for India. So why are
these two cars here in India?
The first product in the Fords 8
product model sheet for India was Ford Fiesta Sedan. But it barely
made a glimpse in Indian car market. The car sells just about 400
units per month due to its heavy pricing.
The second one is almost at launch and
that is Ford Eco-sport. Ford is very rude and hard about Eco-sport
they have not yet revealed the launch date of the car. It is been
almost a year since. The Renault Duster unveiled on the same Expo
with Eco-sport is selling hot. It is almost a year after the launch
of duster and Renault managed to sell 35000 dusters in 2012.
May be there is a huge problem for the
Eco sport Indian version which is troubling Ford and causing the
delay. Any way when Eco -sport is launched it will out throne the
kings Duster and XUV5OO for sure.
These test mules had a sticker pasted
on the rear which says 'Engineering Evaluation Vehicle'. That means
these vehicles are here as a part of Ford's new global testing
program. This has been purposely done by Ford to spread this false
launching through car sits and forums. And they are definitely not
launching in India.
The Fusion sedan spotted had a flex
fuel bade which mens it has an ethanol engine. This Fusion we spot is
not in the market any more. The car has been replaced by the next
generation Ford Fusion on 2012. Fords Global principle is that they
will launch the cars globally and not for a specific country and
region. So this Ford Fusion sedan has no part to play on Indian soil.
The Fiesta hatchback has got only few
years back on its stable and it is nearing end. So these cars may
not be launched in India. But Ford may be testing these cars in India
to study more about Indian conditions. Ford may launch the next gen
Fusion sedan and Fiesta hatch in India soon and just want to test the
Indian roads with these old cars and make necessary changes to the
upcoming cars.
Any way these test mules have been
purposely made up by Ford to create something. We don't know what it
is? Keep your heads up for more test mules and report that to us.
Okay.
