We have some hot news about Volvo V40 Cross country. We are inching closer to its launch. Volvo will launch the car. The car will debut in India some time in April 2013. We have recently spotted the V40 Cross country on a Volvo dealer's compound in Cochin, Kerala. So the V40 Cross Country is almost ready for launch.
The V40 Cross Country is not an
entirely complete SUV. The SUV is basically a V40 hatch with an off
road kit attached. The SUV gets black cladding all over the bottom
and a re-designed rear tail end to convert it to get some bold and
tough SUV looks. But will Indians accept a semi SUV like V40, For
Indians most important aspect they consider about SUV is its rigid
and tough looks. Does the V40 Cross country has pure SUV Dna in it?
Anyway Volvo is expecting to get
something out of Indian Union Budget 2013 scheduled on February.
There is a chance for government taking some steps to support Indian
car market which is currently on a bad time. Car makers are
expecting import duties will be cut down for cars at the budget. V40
Cross country duties will be slashed so we can expect competitive
pricing on the V40 Cross country by Volvo.
Volvo marketing director Sudeep Narayan
informed that Volvo V40 Cross country is slated to launch on April.
He did not exactly mention when. V40 Cross country will have to face
some tough competition from recently face-lifted BMW X1 upcoming new
Audi Q3 and Mercedes B class hatch diesel. So it might be hard for
Volvo to get a firm foundation for V40 Cross Country.
Volvo V40 will have two power-trains.
The 2.0 l diesel and 1.6 l petrol motors. However the SUV will not
have the Volvo All wheel drive feature as it is a semi SUV. The V40
Cross country's success will be vital for Volvo in Indian market.
This segment has got a major share in the luxury car market, if the
SUV fails trouble for Volvo.
Volvo has some big expectations in
Indian market for the future. Volvo is aiming to goble up 15% share
of the luxury market by 2020.
