Nissan Datsun brand did an important job in mobilizing the US and Japan in 90s. Nissan has already informed that the Datsun brand will be bought back to developing countries like India, Russia and Indonesia. Now latest news from Datsun suggest Datsun brand is going to be launched on South Africa as well.
We are hoping Datsun to introduce their first car by 2013. We got teaser image of a Datsun car which is going to be launched in South Africa. The teaser image signifies the generic DNA of the Datsun brand. Angular headlamps tiny grille and contour hood.
Datsun Bose Vincent Co-bee describes Datsun brand as accessible, reliable and modern. Currently Datsun has slated two models for India. One is Datsun K2 model which will be based on the old gen Micra. The car will be priced under 5 lakhs and will be a direct rival to Wagonr and Hyundai i10. The K2 will go on sale globally on 2014.
The next Datsun product to arrive in India will be the i2. The i2 is also based on some old gen Nissan car. It will be priced under three lakhs. it will surely threaten the lives of Alto 800 India's best selling car as it arrives.
Are Indians ready to accept a cheap brand like Datsun. Will it be bad for their dignity to buy an old gen low cost product. If Datsun makes their old cars look like modern and if they offers a diesel engine they are gonna have no trouble in Indian market.

Datsun K2 is nissan's low-cost car brand, it's average mileage is the sum up of fuel efficiency, and is competing with most of maruti's small car range.
