We recently announced that Ford will launch Eco Sport in February 2013. But that has been postponed to April 2013. So everyone is very impatient with Ford right now. We don't know why Ford keeps on testing our patience with Eco Sport.
Ecosport is actually all set to launch. You can see thousands of Ecosport s test driving in Mumbai and Chennai. People already are starting to think Ecosport is launched already while seeing the massive test mules. Ford has showcased Ecosport in numerous dealerships already. Then Why are they not launching it?But Ford has changed the launch date of Ecosport.

Ford has postponed the launch date of its new SUV to April 2012. To months more. We think the reason lies in union budget 2012. There are reports that say government of India will reduce excise by 2% on small cars. This will be applicable from April onwards.
So 2% excise benefit plus sub 4 m benefit and under 1.5 cc benefit will help Ford to price the Ecosport so competitively than its main rival Renault Duster. So roundly the price range will be between 7 to 10 lakhs.
It is been so much time since Ecosport was unveiled for Indian market. Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster was unveiled in India at the same time. But it is been almost an year since the launch of Renault Duster and it has managed to sell about 25000 units already. Duster was selling hot because it did not have any major rivals and it enjoyed its first days.
Price of Duster has been hiked three times now and still plenty of sales as well. So almost 13 months after the unveil of Ecosport and the car is not launched. If Eco Sport was launched early with Duster it would have gobbled up almost 3 quarters of Dusters share. People like Ecosport more than Renault Duster but they have lost their patience and are going towards Duster now.
So not some intelligent tactics by Ford. 13 months o delay after the unveiling wont help the car sales.
Renault Duster had outsell ed Ford Ecosport in Brazilian market. In 2012 Renault managed to sell about 46,893 Dusters while Ford sold 38,284 Ecosport s. So Ford is a bit afraid about Ecosport s success in India. But Ford can price the Ecosport more competitively in India than Brazil with its lower excise duties. But launch delay will be a problem. It will double if Ecosport has long booking period as well.

Yes Renault Duster has won hearts of Indians. Most people vote for the Duster as the most famous launch of 2012. But Ecosport will have a crucial advantage in pricing due to its sub 4m length and lower cc engine. Expect it to be pricedbetween 7 to 10 lakhs.

renault duster is good but lots of body roll though and interiors are not so exciting...so hav no choice but to wait for ecosport....i hope ford don't mess with suspension setup for india and wish that ecosport proves to be a drivers car
So there is a good chance for Ecosport to beat the duster.The Ecosport will be more efficient and will handle well than Duster. Dont worry about body roll on Ecosport it is as pliant as a hatch. But Ecosport s success ultimately depends on pricing.

Ford ecosport will prove one more disaster for already struggling Ford in India. As the so called SUV was showcased in Delhi Auto Expo last year and it look like a 'Bachha'which lack in size and space of a SUV. Its sub 4 meter idea will dig its grave. Lets wait and see this tragedy happening.
You may be right in some aspects but the SUV looks good and is ultra efficient. Nowadays space doesn't matter. Renault Duster is an SUV with seating capacity of 5 people and it is a huge hit now. its selling 5000 units per month. Ecosport will be more successful than duster for sure.
body roll, poor suspension, keep shifting gear if ur down to 30kmph, worst part is mirror control can be used only once u pull up ur hand brake in the duster, even the same on the top end. no steering mount buttons, its actually under pad thing like ford figo,
hopefully we shud get to see improvement on ecosport with steering mounted buttons, more interiors and electronics which they have been missing on fiesta and endeavour. 4x4 option wud be an added advantage for this price range.
It looks like a premium hatchback to me than a SUV. It should compete with Quanto in pricing..... otherwise it will fail

It is wise to choose Ecosport as it is more powerful efficient and able handler. Ecosport is really a fun to drive SUV. There is a chance for launch as early from March 15 onwards.
Renault Duster contains many impracticalities in it.

If you are booking Duster at April 6 you should reconsider. I am pretty sure that Ford will launch the car before Apr.il 15th. Also Renault is planning a face-lift on Duster with 4WD.
One should Consider Ecosport because Look is better than Dustar and Hope fully price will be below 6.5 lakh for base model So that huge number vehicle will run in indian road for a longer period of time...
