Renault Lodgy MPV India launch in 2015 See full specs

Renault Lodgy  will be showcased on 2014 Auto Expo. Now we got information that Renault will launch lodgy MPV on early 2015. There is strong amount of potential for Lodgy in the budget MPV segment in India. Lodgy's main rivals will be of course Suzuki Ertiga, Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. Lodgy will definitely be better than the small compact Ertiga, the expensive Innova and Xylo with poor built quality.

Lodgy is currently selling in Europe under the brand name Dacia. It will get some necessary changes as it reaches India. Most probably the suspension will be raised and stiffened and interiors will get massive changes. The car has the capability to accommodate 8 people in complete luxury.

Lodgy will be powered by the same 1.5 l K9K diesel on Duster and other Reno-Nissan products. A 1.6 l petrol engine will be available as well. We can expect Lodgy to be priced between 7 to 11 lakhs.

The Lodgy is designed sensibility by Renault. The skin has some strong lines and some scoop ups.  It  has a family pitched stance with ergonomic styling. The sleekly headlamps and the cleanly sculpted grille adds more robustness to the Lodgy's front.

However there is a big problem with Lodgy's rear design. It looks good but if you get a speeding hit from the rear, the rear passengers are less likely to survive. Lodgy only got 3 out of 5 stars in the crash test. So it will affect Logy in India were over speeding and road accidents are very common.

Lodgy is more of a family oriented car with is styling and seating unlike commercial MPVs like Innova and Xylo. Lodgy will be a heck f trouble fr Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova. We can expect a face lift on both these cars as Lodgy s launched on 2015.

Renault Lodge Interiors for European version

Renault believes Lodgy can repeat the success of the duster. The Duster sold 35000 units in 2012 which gave Renault 2.5% share overall and 6% share in the Utility vehicle segment. With Lodgy MPV Renault plans to attain 5 % of market share. Good Luck Lodgy.
